This 2-day cultural tour brings you exclusive and in-depth experience of Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship and exquisite Kaiseki dining. This tour includes comfortable transportation via 7-seat vehicle within Kyoto but does NOT include overnight accomodation by default. However, we are happy to help you book a hotel stay if you need it.


Day 1


We will meet at Atelier Japan (inside Hotel Granvia Kyoto) at noon time.


Sake Brewery Experience


We will guide you to a traditional sake brewery in Kyoto city. Today, there are only two sake brewery left in Kyoto, so our sake brewery experience is exclusive and unique. You will taste 3 different types of sake for free. Those who do not drink alcohol can enjoy Amazake (alcohol-free). During this visit, you will get insight of the sake brewery history, techniques and most exciting, the close-up watch of the process of brewing sake.




Get your own custom label


The exciting offer from our tour is to allow customers create their own sake label. Bring it home and show off to friends the unforgettable sake experience.






Kimono Textile Production Experience


Kimono has been a cultural symbol of Japan for centuries, and Kyoto has been the center for kimono and textile production for more than 1000 years. The Nishijin area in the north of Kyoto City is home to textile manufacturers that produce gorgeous woven textiles known as Nishijin-ori.

You will be greeted with welcome a drink. At the textile factory, you'll be able to appreciate not only its vibrant beauty, but also learn about the culture behind it and shop for woven masterpieces.





Kyoto Ceramic Workshop Experience


We will bring you to a workshop which produces traditional Kyoto ceramics. The art of Icchin, a method of drawing raised designs to decorate ceramics, is a speciality at this ceramic workshop. After admiring the intricate patterns and delicate pieces, try your hand at icchin on a plate, which will be baked and sent to your home.






Affter a fruitful day of crafts tour, we will send you back to Kyoto Station or your hotel in Kyoto city (extra fee may apply, depending on the distance)


Day 2


We will pick you up at Atelier Japan (inside Hotel Granvia Kyoto) and take rapid train to Kameoka. Today you will enjoy the great nature of Kyoto suburban area Kameoka. The crafts tour of today is also related to Kyoto's natural resources while you will enjoy a Kaiseki dining in the natural surroundings.


Bamboo Workshop Experience


You will visit a traditional workshop producing various bamboo products since generations. Learn how bamboo has become an iconic element of Japanese Zen and its techniques.




Create your own bamboo basket


Weave strips of bamboo together to create a colorful Shikainami basket with techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Your finished basket can be used for anything from arranging flowers to holding fruits and accessories.



Kaiseki Dining Experience


In the surroundings of Japanese Zen, you entertain your mouth and stomach with a Kaiseki lunch. Indulge in an exquisite Kaiseki lunch at a well-established restaurant that promises to serve up Kyoto cuisine that cannot be found in the city, using natural ingredients from the area . This will be an unprecedented Japanese dining experience in your life.

Stone Workshop Experience


After lunch, we will bring you to a historical stoneworking shop that produces lanterns, gravestones, and interior decorations. You will watch how artisans perform techniques to turn a stone into artistic creation. Use their millstone - made of stone from Kyoto, of course - to grind tea leaves into matcha powder and try a spot of stonework yourself.





Your 2-day crafts tour will end with extensive knowledge about Japanese tradition and culture. We will drive you back to Kyoto station or your hotel in Kyoto city (extra fee may apply, depending on the distance)
