Ikebana or Kado (Flower Arrangement)

Ikebana is the centuries-old Japanese art of arranging flowers. As the meaning “making flowers come alive" implicates, this practice involves a deeper understanding of "beauty and life". Kendo is the traditional Japanese style of fencing with a two-handed wooden sword, derived from the fighting methods of the ancient Samurai. As the opportunities of the actual sword combat was greatly reduced since 1600 A.D., swordsmanship has been turned into a means of cultivating discipline, patience, and skill for building character.

Chado (Tea Ceremony)

The Japanese tea ceremony is a Japanese tradition steeped in history. It is a ceremonial way of preparing and drinking green tea typically in a traditional tearoom with tatami floor. Beyond just serving and receiving tea, one of the main purposes of the tea ceremony is for the guests to enjoy the hospitality of the host in an atmosphere distinct from the fast pace of everyday life.
